The Jerry Awards recognize individuals or organizations that have made significant, ongoing contributions to economic development in Charlotte USA, a 16-county region. Recipients, one public and one private, embody the regionalism of the awards’ namesakes, Jerry Richardson, founder and owner of the Carolina Panthers, and Jerry Orr, aviation director of Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

A nonprofit, public/private economic development organization, the Charlotte Regional Partnership allocates and leverages regional economic development resources to sustain and enhance the economic growth, vitality and global competitiveness of the Charlotte region. Charlotte USA consists of Alexander, Anson, Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly and Union counties in North Carolina and Chester, Chesterfield, Lancaster and York counties in South Carolina.
